Greetings Griffin Family!

In order to ensure the safety of all of our students, faculty, staff, and parents, please read this document in its entirety.

We are fully aware that carpool can be a stressful time, however, our main priority is the safety of our students, teachers, and volunteers. Please give yourself ample time to complete the carpool process, as there are no shortcuts once you are in line.

There are only one entrance and one exit during carpool. We will have teachers and/or volunteers present throughout to expedite the process. Please follow any instructions you receive from those on duty. Followed well, this process will be smooth and incident-free.

As mandated by the City of Frisco, we can never have a carline queue that overflows onto Frisco Street. We believe that following the plan provided here will keep cars off of Frisco Street while allowing us to keep pickup times at a minimum.

Families with K-5 students will have one carline number. It is important that students memorize their numbers. Grades 6-12 students do NOT have numbers unless they have younger siblings.

For the safety of our students, we ask that all carpool rules and procedures be followed:

Please drive slowly when on campus.
Please follow prescribed carpool routes and all directional signs.
Please do not use cell phones (including hands-free devices) or other electronic devices while driving on campus.
Please pull up all the way when dropping off and picking up your children.
Please do not get out of your car to assist your child during carpool. Teachers will be present to assist. If your child needs extra/special assistance, please park and walk your child into the building.
Please minimize car-to-car and car-to-curb communication during carpool.
Do not leave children unattended in the car in the carpool line.
During busy times on campus, please only cross the parking lot at the designated crosswalks.

Morning Drop-Off

Pull up to the farthest available cone. Your student can only exit your vehicle at an attended cone. Do not allow any student to exit your vehicle before you are stopped at a cone and your vehicle is in PARK. For safety, all students must exit only from the passenger/curbside side of the vehicle. Planning and organization will make exiting the vehicle a smooth process and will reduce stress. Please do not exit your vehicle, as there will be someone at each cone to open doors and greet your student.

Do not park to walk your child to class or the building during drop off time.

You must turn right (north) onto Frisco St. when exiting.

The doors of the main office buildings are not open to students until 7:15 a.m. in Lower School and 8:00 a.m. in Upper School. Teachers will only be assisting students out of the car during the K-5 carline. School doors are locked at 8:15 a.m. for security purposes.

Start Times:

K-5 at 7:45 a.m.

6-12 at 8:15 a.m.

When dropped off, K-5 students will go directly to their classrooms and 6-12 students will to the gym. K-5 students may be dropped off on the backside of the buildings near the playground until 7:40 a.m.

Do’s:

Pull up to the farthest cone
Put your vehicle in PARK
Be organized and ready
Have students exit from the passenger side
Turn right (north) onto Frisco St.

Don’ts:

Let students exit before you arrive at a cone
Get out of your vehicle
Honk your horn or yell
Attempt to leave the line early or take a shortcut
DROP-OFF YOUR STUDENT ON FRISCO ST.!!!

Afternoon Pick-Up

You must have your carline tag/number visible to those on duty. Numbers are recorded and relayed to on-duty teachers who are inside with the students.

As in morning drop-off, pull up to the farthest cone. When you arrive at the cone, put your car in PARK. Once your student is in your car and secured with a seat belt/car seat, please wait for the on-duty attendant to give the signal to exit. Do not attempt to go around the cones or leave before you are signaled to do so.

When you exit the campus, YOU MUST TURN RIGHT (NORTH) ONTO FRISCO ST. Waiting to cross and turn left at the median will cause a backup and could be a safety hazard.

If you have students whose carlines are at different times, you will pick them up during the latest carline. For instance, if you have a second-grade student and a seventh-grade student, the second-grader will wait and go with the seventh-grader. Otherwise, you will go through the carline line twice. If your student is not ready when their carline cone is called, you must go through the carline line again. Remind them to pay attention during carline!

Release Times:

K-5 at 3:15 p.m.

6-12 at 3:45 p.m.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

You cannot park at the Frisco Business Park at any time.

You cannot stop on Frisco Street at any time to drop off or to pick up students.

You cannot turn left onto Frisco Street after leaving our campus.

Please follow the directions of all staff who are on carline duty.

Please refrain from using your cell phone while the carline is active.

Do not get out of the carline to pass cars in front of you unless directed by staff to do so.

If you must remove your student/s early from school, please do so before 2:35 p.m. for K-5 students and 3:15 p.m. for 6-12 grade students.

Please display your carline number from your rearview mirror.

If your student is a walker, a signed parent release form must be on file in the office. The parent must provide evidence that they live or work within a one-mile radius of the school. For safety reasons, walkers will be released after the carline is over.

Only those people you have previously authorized may pick up your student. If your student is riding home with another FCA Frisco family, you must send an email to the office and your student’s teacher at least 30 minutes prior to carline authorizing that specific family to transport your student. In addition, that family must have the car tag to pick up your child.

Email the office prior to authorize other FCA family pick-up
Pull up to the farthest cone
Put your car in PARK
Secure students in seat belts/car seats
Turn right (north) onto Frisco St.
